Hello, and welcome to the badlybent blog.

Why call it “Badly Bent”? Because “adslhfasduitr7809gnbbns^^%**%GKNBjkf.com” was taken.

I basically wanted a place to put stuff that was either too short for my podcast (The Sieve!) or didn’t quite fit the focus of my podcast (The Sieve!) which would be weird, come to think of it because there really is no focus to my podcast….

Not all people like to listen to podcasts.  I call those people “not me”.  Some people like to go really olde-schoole and actually read stuff.  I know, wacky, huh ?  If you’ve got an extra couple of minutes pop back here and read the latest.  I’ll probably post every dayish or at least every other day or so, and I’ll try to keep things an interesting mix of somewhat thoughtful and possibly helpful (Earth Hour Post) and the totally inane… (Cheez Wiz Post.)

The random cat photo should change every time you visit.  If it doesn’t, let me know and I’ll shoo the cat away.  A large percentage of the photos are going to be from icanhascheezburger.com and others are going to be from other sources on the net, and also some photos of my crazy cats.  Sometimes I’m going to get really “out there” and have pictures that aren’t even cats!  Wow, I know.

0ne other thing I’d like to draw your attention to is the seagull at the top of the page.  “Steve, why a seagull?” I hear you ask.  Well, partly because it came with the Wordpress Theme.  I, however, chose this theme because of the seagull.  When I was young I read Jonathon Livingston Seagull, and it really impressed me.  While I may not subscribe to most of the theories the book puts forth, I did love the writing, and the ideas that life is more then just day-to-day slogging.  I’ve also always thought that seagulls were very beautiful birds, especially in flight.  Of course, they’re not so beautiful when they’re fighting over a scrap with other seagulls, or pooping on others.  Kind of like people.
